The Discovery Center is a place-based science learning center for TTUSD students, launched by the TCCSEA and the Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships (SWEP).

The Winter Discovery Center, a 30 foot Pacific Yurt is the home to a comprehensive program that includes academic lessons aligned with the CA State Science Standards and physical activity.

The program is a series of field-trips made available to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students of the TTUSD. Students will learn about subjects such as winter ecology, winter plant and animal adaptation, animal tracking, natural history and watersheds.

Teachers and students also receive free cross country ski equipment rentals and trail use at no charge.
