Summer Striders

Summer Striders is offered to elementary and middle-school students, ages 9-14 years old, who would like to stay active and challenged over the summer! Tahoe XC coaches, directed by Zan Larkins, will lead the Summer Striders through 10 weeks of running, biking, and hiking for 2 days a week plus one day each month for a longer event. Summer Striders will be divided into two age groups: 9-10 years old, and 11- 14 years old.

Junior Mountain Riders

Kids ages 7-11 grow and practice their mountain bike skills with peers and coaches during safe, inclusive weekly rides. Learn More…

Tahoe Nature Camp

Tahoe Nature Camp is a week-long session of nature study, hiking, exploring, nature art, primitive skills, camp craft, games, and of course play, with the goal of a deeper connection to nature, self & new friends for kids ages 5-10 years old. Led by seasoned coach, Bev Buswell, who has run her own nature school and summer camp for decades. Her strength is in connecting kids to nature in a deep and lasting way. Register & Learn More

North Tahoe School XC Teams

Free Skiing for Families

Free Skiing for Families is a unique opportunity for school age children, K-5th, who are a part of our local school district, Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD). This program is for those who may not have had previous experience with snow sports. This program is led by North Tahoe High School student volunteers who coach the families, then encourage them to ski the remainder of the day.

Nordic Naturalists

Nordic Naturalists is a TCCSEA Youth Program designed to bring out the joy, wonder and appreciation for the natural world through cross-country skiing. Centered around play, this exploratory program is an introduction to cross-country skiing with an emphasis on the natural world. Led by UC Naturalist, Colleen Shannon and Early Childhood educator, Bev Buswell, TK and Kindergarten students are welcomed to set out learning the basics of cross-country skiing while identifying the flora and fauna of the winter forest through hands-on expeditions. Equipment is included and participants are required to dress in weather appropriate attire. Register Here.

Strider Gliders

Kids ages 6-11 are introduced to physical activity, exploring Nature, and Nordic skiing during weekly after-school ski lessons. Learn more..
