Summer 2020 COVID-19 Reopening Plan

Updated 19 May 2020

The following Reopening Plan has been developed by Tahoe XC and follows California State, Placer County, and TCPUD directives. Please note it is currently prohibited by state and county directives to travel from outside the area for the purpose of exercising in the Tahoe area. Tahoe XC’s Reopening Plan is subject to change without notice as new information is available.

In preparation for opening in summer, our team is being conservative in our approach to bringing Tahoe XC back to full capacity. To help our community safely use Tahoe XC as an outlet for mountain biking, trail running, wildflower walking and hiking, we are taking the following safety measures:

  • We are professionally cleaning and sanitizing the carpets in the entire lodge
  • We are professionally cleaning and sanitizing the bathrooms, lodge, kitchen, and rental areas
  • We have disinfected all winter rental gear (skis, boots, poles) and placed them in storage
  • We are disinfecting all summer rental gear (mountain bikes and helmets) upon bringing them out of storage
  • We are implementing cleaning protocols for summer mountain bike and helmet rentals (see below)
  • We are posting safety measures in and around the lodge and setting out hand sanitizer for customers to use

Please do not come to Tahoe XC if you have been sick recently, are having flu-like symptoms, are feeling sick, or have been in contact with people who have been sick. The success of our summer season depends on all of us making this a priority.

In addition to the above General Safety Precautions, Tahoe XC is implementing a 3-phase plan to safely reopen as an outdoor recreation facility. This plan is subject to change without notification to remain compliant with state and county directives.

All Plans are Tentative & Subject to Change

All plans are tentative and depend on state and county directives and what is safe for our staff and our community. We are doing our best to implement a conservative and responsible COVID-19 Response Plan. Please help us by continuing to practice physical distancing and following the CDC’s guidelines both on and off the trails.
