With much Gratitude for all of you, we wish you a marvelous Thanksgiving holiday.

Due to the chilly temps and “tweener season” Tahoe XC will not be open on a regular basis until the snow flies. Please call before making a trip over.

California Tahoe Conservancy-Dollar Unit and Cal-Fire may be managing fuel reduction burns on the trails accessed from Tahoe XC. Smoke will be often be present. For the current air quality index, visit AirNow and view the prescribed fire map with project details at Tahoe Living With Fire.

Ever since a series of major forest fires hit our region, including the Caldor Fire which burned all the way from near Placerville to South Lake Tahoe, the issue of our overly dense forests leading to more conflagrations has been a top concern for the region. In fact, Tahoe Fund CEO Amy Berry says, “our number one priority is to remove trees from our forest. Simply put, we have too many trees, and if we don’t figure out how to lose some of them, we face the very real risk of losing all of them.”…Read more
